Looking For Work Experienced Stockperson with BSc (hons) Ag. Management

Dear Sir/Madam,

Having recently graduated the Royal Agricultural University with a BSc (hons) in Agricultural Management (2:1), I am now looking to find a permanent job. As you will see from my C.V. (attached), I have not done the ‘usual’ university route and I feel that this has provided me with hugely beneficial practical experience. Having two years off between my second and third years, as well as a ‘placement summer’, has enabled me to work on many different farms learning the best ways to not only care for livestock, but also the most efficient ways of running a farm business. So, I am writing to you to on the off chance that you (or know of someone who) would like to employ a candidate such as myself.

I went back to university last year to learn more about the management side of a farm business, to try to progress my career forward into something more challenging. Livestock is my main interest, with Cattle being my main passion, however I am keen on learning more about sheep, having done a full lambing season last year and having 7 of my own ewes. I love to learn, take on responsibility and produce animals to a high standard, with one of my key interests being health and welfare. I am competent on a telehandler and have driven smaller tractors, however I would be keen to get into more tractor work, as this is obviously a vital part of agriculture! I also enjoy office work, so if there was a position available within the farm office I would also like to hear about that, and do not mind splitting my time between farm and office.

I am an active member of Henley Young Farmers club and the Royal South Buckinghamshire Agricultural Association, where I am on the executive committee. I have two spaniels who I go shooting/beating with and I enjoy clay pigeon shooting.

Preferably I would like to stay within the Berks, Bucks and Oxon region, although I would be willing to move a little further out for the right position.

Thank you for taking the time out to read my email, I really look forward to hearing from you and discussing any possibilities further.

Kind regards,

Fiona Short
