Tragically a farmer collapsed and died after coming out of the ring, they were 2 hours trying to revive him and then it took another 3 hours before the legalities were completed so it was 7.30 at night before the sale restarted.
Very sad thoughts with all his family and friends, it sounds like everything was done that could be

I did hear that there were 4 fresh buyers appeared up when word got out that the sale was delayed 1 of which bought 50 calves.
I did wonder.

What a bizarre day that was. The first half of the sale was pretty desperate for trade.
When I left Dalmally at 4.30 that day there were more than a few concerned people about what was going to happen.

@west coast angus , you should be very pleased with how your calves sold given that you were in early. They were a credit. (y)

Got a mate who had 6 calves bought before the tragedy at a fair bit below last years trade, then bought another 30 after the restart and his average for the whole lot is up £30 on the year. It s a shame for those that were in early but I guess that's just life. He didn't get home until 4 the next morning. Calves didn't get home until 5 pm on the Saturday

Hebridean for 3 quid? That values my folder of them at 300! Pah wish I was their!! Put to tex.they produce a lean and tidy ewe - the heb lives on nothing and is good for producing lean breeding ewes and I can place them.for people at 3/dw or sell direct for 10.
Don't bloody tell everyone man!
I like cheap hebrideans too. They eat really well and there's a good niche(ish) market for them
