Ez Pilot Communication Error

Anyone else come across this?

Unplug and plug back in the EZ-Pilot. Then I get Terrain Compensation a Error. Unplug that, it works for 5 mins then back to the start.

Unplug the screen at the back and leave til all goes blank. Start it back up and it'll do several hours.

Done a firmware update today thanks to dealer supplying new firmware all round.

Will see how it goes.

Had it keep happening intermittently, turned out to be a faulty sam 200 i.e. The steering wheel.

What is the latest firmware is it 7.71?

Oh handy!!

Strange thing is it happened on combine last year, was fine on the tractor when drilling and now back on combine it's playing up.

Yes 7.71 for FM, 2.10 for IMD, and 1.04 for EZ-Pilot.

I get a similar error every time the tractor is turned off and restarted despite the CFX750 screen being left turned on, this is apparently due to a voltage drop when starting the tractor.

Funny you say that! If I turn the machine off and on again I'm more likely to get that error when I restart again.

You may be right with your comment therefore - turning the combien off with the screen running could be the cause....hence why pulling the mains plug and letting it start itself makes it work for longer. Though not sure why unplugging SAM/IMD causes that issue.

The two machines have different batteries/charging systems (clearly!) but also have their own separate power loom for the system. Given it doesn't happen on the tractor, perhaps that (for some reason) doesn't cause the voltage drop in the same way.

The one here that they changed the steering wheel because of the faults we have just had to change the alternator as it was only putting 11.5 volts when we had the lights and air con on but was charging at 12.5 volt with every thing turned of. You learn some thing every day

I get it occasionally, just unplug wheel and imd 600.
Very annoying if you forget the imd as it really doesn't do the section control well at all without it.
