Yes I am going to be really careful, washed my hands a few times and luckily still have some of the sanitiser from that little global incident.

My boss all has an automated dispenser we are going to put up. Hopefully it all goes well.
It's a virus so it's more about not getting it into cuts, soap and water as good as any sanitiser.

I put the orf paste on without gloves so hope it stops anything that could infect me.

I am hoping it clears up as quick as that, feels a bit like I am cocking up these pet lambs a bit but I have been doing everything I should from what I have read and been told. I have managed to lose 3 of the 13 I bought then 2 of the ones from our flock. Still got 21 altogether but feels like I have lost more than I should.

Suppose I can only get better at it from here though.
Pets are always hard work and die when they look good. Don't judge yourself on your ability with pets, they test everyone once in a while, if not more haha

fecking painful is what it is!! Mind you the treatment was just as bad! I was advised as a young teenager with orf on my index finger too “just dip it in this 5 gallon drum, sort it in no time” 🤬 it was formalin. Uncle laughed for weeks about that!

Hubby had athletes foot that every over the counter product did zilch for. I laughingly suggested the foot trough, next day my eyes were watering any time I went near him, the smell of formalin rising from his wellies was terrible, he had filled a skooshie bottle with formalin and water, sprayed his feet and then with Terramycin, his toes were blue for a week! Cure the athletes foot though.

I used old engine oil on a bit of rag taped to my finger. F me it was painful...it went, eventually. Got to be careful having a slash though - don't want it to spread🤢
My uncle tells the tale of the local village eccentric who was about when he was a kid. He got a ringworm on his pr*ck and went around telling everyone as if it were something too be proud of! My uncle says they never dared ask him what he’d been doing in the milking shippon too get it there...

To be honest I was more worried about getting Orf on my face.
Mum got it in a cut on her cheek years and years ago. Nanna took her too the doctors and was fobbed off. Took a dog too the vets and the first thing the vet said was “what are you putting on that orf on Ruth’s face?” He applied some stuff that they kept in stock for staff use and it was cleared up in no time.

A quick spray with Osmonds Bactakil 55 (which I’m pretty sure has formalin in it too) will sort athletes foot, as it does orf.👍

Don’t be hard on yourself about pets dieing, the bloody things with die just to spite you. Lost plenty at 10 weeks old weaned and motoring in the past, wish they had a decency to die at 24 hours before they cost me the best part of £50.
