That's me done for the year, a few empties that are showing a bit of udder as the tups are still in with them but they can take their chances on being seen once a day.

Nice big pair of NZ Suffolks out of an easycare, @easyram1 still doing what it says on the tin.

Made the decision and will be all shredders next year for the outside lambers and if the right stock comes up will just convert completely.

Cracking lambs that grow like mushrooms and ewes that live off some of the worst ground in the county, with no shearing, hard feed, dagging, clipping or housing.

Not for everyone but as I approach 50 I need to start planning for when I am not fit enough to dag dirty arses and shear ewes, and will love being able to check sheep when I want, not guessing when I think the ewes may have got backed and racing round 19 fields of sheep to try and save them.

I must say this thread has kept me sane, if I only spoke to the neighbours who never lose a lamb or a ewe I'd be thinking I was in the wrong job. It ls nice to know even the real experts lose lambs and ewes and have the occasional f@ck up along the way.

Had two badly struck yesterday, one lamb with some old netting wrapped around its leg (has had to come in) a ewe with a blown bag (her two in on creep) a dead ewe and 4 with maggots on their tails in a bunch i trimmed out.
Had enough of it by last night!!
I always give every ewe a stripe of crovect on the tail and one aimed at the udder when I am dagging to try and save maggot strike and flies at udders

I am actually running a wee experiment here to see who doesn't like my post and picture because it is of an Easycare with a nice pair of lambs that lambed itself.... I have noticed on various threads that certain people only comment on shredders when they have something negative to say and never entertain anything about them that doesn't fit the narrative of their breed being better and shredders being shite haha.....

..... don't disappoint me 'usual suspects'

😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

If they are by a Suffolk why have they not got black faces?
Also I would like to see pictures of the older lambs out of the easycares please.

They are out of NZ Suffolk and that's how they throw them, some black faces, some brown speckled faces and some white. Ask @easyram1 if you need conformation of the tups I use and if this is normal.

I am going though the end of April lambers this week to Ovivac and Clik so will get some pictures of them too if you like.

Nice to see her staying with her lambs or have you got an extremely good zoom lens?😂😂

I don't know whether I'm one of your suspects but I couldn't resist 😅😅

I ‘entertain’ shedders but also see plenty of negatives in them. Does that qualify me as one of the usual suspects?

I have to admit she’s a good shedding ewe. She’s got two live lambs and she’s still with them.👍🤐
