Yes I have plenty of them too. Is there any way of getting shot of them?

The best way is to pull them but if they get out of hand there is a spray but the seeds can lay dormant in the ground apparently.

On the subject of wild oats anyone use a CTM weed cutter

If you think docks are bad , try wild oats ... them mothers are from outer space

When I first visited Hillsborough Res. Institute in Northern Ireland, and Fred Gordon? was spouting forth, I noticed a magnificent field of stubble turnips, probably Typhon, near the steading. As we got nearer, it turned out to be a field completely covered in docks.

Northern Ireland is, or at least was, a very interesting place for agricultural visits - Hillsborough, Greenmount, Castle Archdale?, and numerous well-run commercial farms.

Years ago father had a field where the docks completely beat him, so he gave up and in the Autumn the field was red with the docks seeding after 2 years they disappeared completely , chocked themselves . Another 20 years before they started coming back .

Anyone that has ever pulled wild oats will surely have had it drummed into them, at pain of having their arse thrashed, that you need to pull them up by their roots. Just breaking them off below the crop canopy, as any such topper can only do, means they push another head up a week or so later.
