Face masks in schools

Received an email from my sons new school which he will be starting at on Monday stating that all pupils will have to wear face masks when moving around the school as they feel this will give parents the confidence to send their kids back to school. I am really concerned how this will affect the kids ability to communicate and make friends, its a big step going to secondary school and I think this could have long term effects for many of the kids, this will particularly affect my son as he currently doesn't know any other kids attending this school. Statically he has a greater chance of been killed by a lightning strike than by CV. I have emailed the school with my concerns but not had a reply yet.

Well seeing how Bojo and the Tories generally adopt 10 days later what Sturgeon says for the Scots I think their children have to wear masks - so the cynic in me thinks it will come along. On a more serious response afraid if I was a head teacher I would be looking to protect my back and the staffs bacs - so masks it is. Be interesting what reply you get. And whether it is deemed mandatory within a school by the head teacher. Regards.

He will be fine. HM jnr started at a new school last month and is wearing a mask in common areas but not in classrooms. No issues at all.

I commented a couple of years ago about my local bus stop, where about a dozen kids wait every morning. The fact that today there is absolutely no communication of any degree between them. No chatting each other up, fighting , not even a glance as their faces were riveted to the screen in front of them
