Factor Tractors Pontefract, any experiences?

But we're in the game. We know roughly what things should be worth. We have an inkling about specs ( Euro or USA specs etc ). We are familiar with pics from larger dealers yards. Someone who's just bought a small holding might not have this knowledge. They may feel a 30 year old tractor that's priced at £5k is fair ( a car that age would be £300 ).
If it's not from an established dealer, you should go and have a look however. Probably best to stick to local dealers too.
Some harsh comments on this thread.
This is a fair point.
And the advent of cazoo and cinch has in a way played into the scammers hands.
People nowadays are getting lazy. Far too comfortable parting with large sums of money with just a few clicks with total confidence

I'm a bit risk averse so stick to local firms, at least you generally have a better idea who your dealing with, better the devil you know 🤣

Of course some distant firms get rave reviews on here so are fair to do with also.

And me, it followed a qoute about a 8000hr tractor model that's not been widely released yet.
Can't say I was as clever as you about the tractor, just seemed likely a funny sarcastic comment.

I suppose using emojis avoids doubt, often the written word can be taken the wrong way as obviously you can't hear how somebody's said something.

You didn't. I wasn't referring to you
Ok, phew glad I'm not guilty 👍

I sort of got it you were expressing an opinion about another member, thing was I hadn't noticed anything before and didn't want my comment to be taken for something it wasn't.

Think I'll leave you all to it and go outside and play on a tractor, I'm sure I'll end up with lines or detention soon 😂

I didn't mean to start a war. If my post had been serious (and someone somewhere will believe all those reviews) I'd have been glad of the extra warning.
I get it, that it was a well intentioned funny post to act as a warning.

Scammers should get at least 5 years in jail their absolute scum, trouble is mainly I suppose working from abroad.

People unfortunately like a bargain and tend to believe what they want despite warnings.

Look at the person that sold a tractor on FB on here and the fake reselling of it, seems the customer for the fake wouldn't be put off despite warnings from the original owner :banghead:

In that case they should familiarise themselves with what is the market, I have no idea what a leisure craft or boat is worth, of any age, if actively hunting one I’d find out, so too motocross bikes or sports motorcycles, not a notion what they are worth - if you look at the comments from those scammed they never say “My machine didn’t turn up” they say “Bought what looked a bargain/very cheap xxxx from tractors4u.co.uk and it didn’t turn up”

These scams are not the same as those pressured into handing over money or account details through fear or phishing. Those scammers should be fed through a mince grinder, These scams need a willing second party for it to work.

I found another similar highly suspect website Gsi equipment limited in daventry. Phone code is for coventry and the same phone number is quoted for their Germany office too. The tractors for sale are the same as on the factor tractor site.
