Fair price for small plot of mowing grass ?

Been offered 4 acres of mowing grass from a friend who normally keeps a few store cattle on it. We’ve just baled and wrapped it and averaged 10 bales of nice dry stuff, he also wants it mowing again later so he is left with a tidy field. The question is what is a fair price for both parties, answers appreciated.

For such a small acre - Hard to say - Factor in your time and make sure your paid, a small margin on the bales and what ever the difference to your friend?

I often get small bits for free for the simple reason the cost of managing a smaller than 10ac block can be more than it can return....

If its 10 bales and they sell for 30 in your area, and cost you 10-12 to make, Thats 18-20 margin - sell them and split the money? You get your cut he gets his.

No more that £6 bale for the grass alone or its cheaper to buy them

Tidying up the field is worth alot, quite a few wouldn't bother with it. If hes a mate and quite close by, just cut his hedges for him. That will leave him happy with a really nice tidy field!
