Fallow land

Please tell me that i have understood this wrong. From this year if you have EFA Fallow on an arable farm in the same place for 5 years it will convert to Permenant Pasture.

Earliest conversion is 2023, so it said in farmers weekly this week.

As you don't have to declare where it is in a parcel just its size how do they know which bit it is to make it PP

PP is not an issue as all it needs is cultivation each year to mean it can be reverted back to arable should you wish with out any bother.

Cultivation does not just mean moving the soil, topping it would count.

It should not turn to pp before 2023 but we have had a remapping this year and nearly all my fallow strips have had there land uses changed to pp so keep a close eye on you maps and land uses as some of these changes have been done and no message from RPA to say they have done it. I now have to send rle 1 forms to get my land uses changed back.
