Are you a farmer with some spare land and wanting to try a new venture? I have a fabulous, proven, equine venture itching to explode in Northumberland I just need a supportive silent partner with appropriate land and possible small out building/caravan to get started.

I have a current equine business that needs to grow and Northumberland is the place as we just have what I want to offer in this area. Plenty south of the Tyne but nothing up here !

if you think you can help and you 'd like to expand or get involved with a new venture please get in contact with me.

An essential part of any pitch is actually letting the investor know what you're proposing
Yes I realise this but I don't want to advertise my idea on here so someone else does it ! This is a very broad initial quest its very simple are you a farmer or similar in NORTHUMBERLAND who maybe looking to diversify and has some land doing nothing - then we could talk.

Im not actually looking for an investor as such and this ins not a business pitch - as such just a general initial feeler

Didn't expect stupid sarcasm from some though !

I suspect that many farmers have been left scarred by horsey folks in the past and as a consequence most are a little sceptical about any project with the word 'horse' in it.
:)
I think that is really sad and silly ! Im also offended that I have been judged - wrongly because my business is horses ! I have never, nor will ever scare anyone ! All I want is a bit of land, a field that is on someones farm that they cant really do anything with, cant take a crop from, cant really graze anything on, natural objects, i.e. stream would be better for me ! Just a bit of odd land that's doing nothing that could earn some from an equine business !!! that's all nothing sinister ! I am shocked at the hostility I have been shown joining this forum

It's not personal.

Farmers are a funny bunch!

Most farmers have a story which is negative towards nags, either the people we associate with them (can't reverse horse box) or the fact that during harvest when they go riding down the roads it makes it very tricky for us on corn cart.

Try and ID some suitable land and contact the owner with a polite letter. Throw in some figures and see what you get back. If the figures are as good as you say they are one if them may bite.

I don't think SFP can be claimed with horses though?

Good luck

Dont take above comments to heart. Its simply a lot of farmers have been shafted by horse owners(me included ) over the years. I actually like horses, its the owners, mothers, stroppy grandads ect that cause the problem. If you have a good proposal for Northumberland then put an add in the Newcastle Journal farming section . good luck with your venture.

@Horse Harmony ..... If you're going to potentially want to put your proposal in the direction of any farmer,... and indeed advertise this on a public farming forum, you're gonna have to toughen up a bit!...and i say that in the most gracious of ways and no offence is intended.

The word 'horse' in any form on his site will be met with negative responses ( but not by everyone) on the whole i'm afraid as many have been screwed over in the past in one way or another, so you're gonna have to hang in there and take some flack initially...it's just the way it is. Some will make a joke out of the tiniest piece of information you give and it will rollerball into a comedy sketch! Just roll with it and don't take it to heart too much.

Good Luck though,....keep talking and you never know,...one of them may bite in the near future and give you the chance to explain further to them, just what this 'venture' is. Everyone started somewhere and usually with a little help and support from another, so steady away eh?! :)
