Yep it’s well known I’m not a fan.

But it looks like we’re stuck with it for now.

can anyone tell me the ballpark cost for a combined arable/beef audit on a 300 acre farm?

just looking to see which outfit offer best value (if that’s the correct term😂😂)

cheers.

We are only stuck with it while everyone pays into it !!

Leave on mass and it will go.

No one cared about farm assurance when the supermarket shelves became empty in March and there is still thousands of tonnes of horse meat getting into the food chain...........even though everything is supposed to be regulated to the hilt !

Here are the fees from SAI Global from 1st April 2020

Beef & Lamb Inspection Fee £163.20 + Royalty £35.00 = £195.00 + VAT

Combinable Crops <80Ha Inspection Fee £180.54 + Royalty £25.00 = 205.54 + VAT
81-200Ha Inspevtion Fee £212.16 + Royalty £25.00 = £237.16 + VAT

Discount of £20 from total bill for two schemes assessed at same time.

So assuming you have cereals and beef and lambs scheme on 300 acre farm ball park figure is £400 ........... not forgetting all the associated compliance costs that will go with it.

Disregarding membership, what fee would you allocate to the stress and time factor?
It must make sense to take the fiver a ton hit on cereals and say to hell with it all.

Also is it obligatory to have the spray operators PA1 and 2 and NROSO points to comply with area payments?
If not, then it's another incentive to do without it.

Just what I have said for years! I left five years ago and would never go back; best thing I did, it’s an utter farce.
If everyone had the guts to leave en masse it would fall like the ridiculous house of cards that it is.
