So I run 5 different peoples wheat into store! My trailers are going to look good and not at all confusing I suppose I’ll just have to tell them which number it is in the weighbridge office!!!

Reading all this nonsense makes me even more glad that I gave assurance the heave ho all those years ago! For God’s sake, why does everyone still keep on dancing to the latest silly tune that their puppet masters dream up!

I do not see what odds numbering the trailer has on anything.

It’s about tracking previous loads

There is a haylage exclusion list which means if a commercial trailer has ever carried certain items (glass / antibiotic treated feed etc) it can no longer be used for food haylage

Pointless enforcing it to trucks but then ignoring farms load history I guess

But I can’t see any farmer (or haulier for that matter). Recording a load that effectively writes of their trailer ! As usual the system is flawed as it depends upon people being honest to their own detriment !

Surely some vinyl stickers from your local sign writer won’t break the bank?

Being in the scheme is gain enough isn’t it?

My Assurance inspector (the same one who does Clive) said it is a ridiculous idea and that we should all right to our scheme operators and say so!

You only need them if you are hauling your own grain to an end user.

I suggest the easiest way to do it is to open Word, then print your number as big as you can onto an A4 sheet of paper. Then cut the number out, sellotape this onto the trailer as a stencil and aerosol paint the number onto the sides and rear of the trailer.

What the heck happens when you borrow a trailer from your neighbour and it has his number on, I don't know.
I would think that you have to point it out to the weighbridge operator that the number on the trailer is not the same as the one on your passport.

I’m not familiar with the scheme hence the question.

In a nutshell

We all have to pay and do increasingly daft things in order to be allowed to sell our produce at the same price as others in this “global market”

Bit like a bunch of local gangsters visiting your business and demanding payment to allow you to continue trading unless you pay them some money

The gangsters however at least only want money and not a load of your time and integrity as well

To make this situation even more ridiculous it was not pushed upon us as laws etc it was something we all were told was a great idea and would get us more for our produce than our competitors ..... I’m still waiting for that to happen !

I’m a big fan ! :)
