Farm cats (and kittens)

Emma's kittens are ready for a new home, now 9 weeks old, let me know if you can give any of these little critters a home, they'll be good little hunters, or call Emma 07714 413087.

Heart breaking news today ,,found out my big softy had kidney failure ,,took him in yesterday as he had very bad breath,,found a couple of bad teeth and an ulcer on his gum ,,they did a blood test this morning and found out the cause of the problem
Just had to have him put to sleep ,,,Im bloody gutted ,,he was my favourite ,enjoyed his cuddles and fuss .
house will be quite without him.
RIP Sam,,

CPL do a fantastic job, and are always on the look out for new farm homes for neutered feral cats, or if you will take a kitten from them, they will then give you neutering vouchers for when they are old enough.

Father once asked the vet about neutering a cat when he was out at a cow.
Vet then asked if he had an old welly lying handy.
5 minutes later Cat head first in the welly and job done:facepalm:

Ok

Do the numbers of rats and mice decrease in the Winter or stay the same?
We don't want to stop them hunting but don't want them going hungry either.
Looking at the size of them, I'd say they have enough fat reserves to see them through a lean winter and failing that they have uncle haulmblower:D

I think mice numbers are fairly constant but rat numbers would tend to increase around farm buildings in winter as they move in from fields and hedgerows looking for somewhere warm and dry.
It is said that a hungry cat is not a good hunter, they lack patience to sit and wait, moving on to the next potential victim too soon.
