Farm cottage on orkney ??

Hi, Im trying all ways to find an old farm cottage or house that someone would rent to an ex shepherd, so farm savvy, who now works with detector dogs. I will have two well behaved highly trained dogs on Orkney for the next 3 years and want a wee house with maybe a couple of sheds for potential kennels that i could rent for that period. Im on my own and house proud! Bloody hard finding somewhere here to rent. Spread the word please and surely someone has a wee place somewhere. Grant.

Try the local Highland Facebook pages. There are quite a few. Land ownership in the Highlands is a bit complicated. A lot of it is crofting and often the land belongs to a landlord and the "improvements" (house, buildings, fences, etc) belong to the tenant (the crofter). The best thing would be to post on these groups and ask. Just search for "Orkney" or "Highland" on FB and lots of pages will come up with those words in the title. Good luck!

thanks, yes im already on Orkney in a granny flat/bedsit and linked to most sites but having dogs is an issue as it can be expected. Just throwing lines in the water in case someone knows of a place that might be up for rent rather than holiday let in the current situation. Guaranteed income!
