Hi folks, due to a change in family circumstances and deciding to retire earlier than expected am sadly looking to disperse the herd and flock along with a few bits of handling equipment, trailer etc. Would prefer to do it more or less in one hit from the farm. Who would be the best auctioneers for this for Norfolk?

I would think if you are dispersing livestock and related equipment that you would be better using an auctioneer with experience and contacts / customers for this such as Bletsoes or Newark livestock?

How much stock and how much machinery? A very good farmer near me decided to get out of sheep (600 ewes) and concentrate on the sucklers. He sold all of the ewes privately and 2 adverts on FB/online and he sold every item of sheep equipment. I had a race from there, there was someone “interested” in indoor feed barriers, they ended up buying all the hurdles, feed barriers, hay racks and slats once they arrived there. Livestock equipment was all in very good condition and galvanised and he sold them for 2/3 of new price.

Got Premier crush, a few cattle hurdles, not many as keeping round pen for horses. Selection of Lleyn, Norfolk Horn, Ryeland, Jacob and Suffolk Sheep. About 5 20 foot long cattle hay racks, small livestock trailer, IAE cattle headstock, some cattle hay ring feeders, 1 muck spreader, cultivator for tractor, topper and set of chain harrows for tractor. Few other bits and pieces worth picking at!

I would put them on the livestock for sale post on here and in the farmers guide.
After all you probably know what you'd be happy to take .Auctions can be hit and miss and you will save yourself a lot of money on fees and haulage.:)
