It's my understanding it could be welded by a 5 yr old with a fisher price welder and look like pigeon sh1t. The bit that matters is whether it is tested or not.
I had my machinery lifters tested. They put a 10t proof load on all 3 lifting points to give a SWL of 5t.

The point is it's WHAT is presented on the test date not WHO welded it. How it's made and who welded it are irrelevant

The point is anything the goes on the handler is a piece of lifting equipment and should be treated as such.
99% of all home made bale spikes, forks, grabs etc would fail a HSE inspection.

Stupid thing is you can buy say a bucket off strike has that comes with a very and CE marking but as soon as you weld some brackets on all that is invalid as it has been modified

Smart.
I've start buying those brackets in 2 seperate pieces. Big saving on the proper ones

Hmmm. The chalk line down the middle would suggest you found the centre line and measured out from there? I bet you used a real tape as well?
On the bodges thread the heathens would have used string with a knot in every inch

Is someone seriously going to say that a farmer cannot fabricate his own project for use by himself with no employees without it being CE Marked.
Well lock me up now. and 90% of the farming population that do the same as me.

Might as well shut down half the threads on this site as well
a total load of rubbish yet again suits with no job prospects making work for themselves at our cost

A real man would stick the brackets on the machine and drive up the the bucket and weld it on !
