Farm management software

Looking for new farm management software to replace Agridata that I’ve been using for years! Great software but seems to have finished years ago so not been updated for some time!!! Am trying iLivestock at the moment, it’s not bad but not as user friendly as Agridata. I like the idea of it as an app on my phone but to me it’s not so easy. I’ve thought about Farmplan as they have been around for years ? But wondering what other people are using and how they find it.
Thanks

If you want a livestock package have a look at Breedr. I’m sure @Formatted can help you. It’s free and links well to a phone for recording on farm in real time. I have used Farmplan Cattle Manager for years. BUT Farmplan have not developed it at all, they just grab your money for the annual service charge and put nothing back. It is unbelievable that they have not developed a phone app to link data input.

Thanks for that ! To be honest I’ve felt Farmplan haven’t moved with the times from what I’ve seen and it is expensive. I spoke to them a few years ago and they told me they were developing an app but it doesn’t seem to happened. Can breeder be used on a desktop as well as a phone?

There are quite a few ex-Agridata users on www.breedr.co as its free to use and we're just about to add sheep. Weigh, medicate, log breeding activities and send BCMS movements all on your phone, web portal to analyze your data as well.

We are beef and sheep and Agridata was great, such a shame it’s died a death.

I use cattle manager and was in touch with farm plan about adding sheep manager on as well. She said there was meant to be an app coming out this summer. Still sitting on the fence about which software to go with and what sort of reader and weigh head 🥴

I trialled Farm Matters along with several other programs and settled on it as a reasonable and modestly priced bit of software. Some bits are non-intuitive, but I am getting there. It also has some good cropping and NVZ add-ons, all included in teh annual fee.

(I used Agridata for many years too!)

FarmMatters here, links to TruTest plate Reader and EZweigh7 so very quick and simple to weigh cattle. BCMS and medicine all included. A lot less cash than FamPlan as well. I've heard an app is on the way.

If Breedr is free going by posts above how is the software financed ?
We made Breedr’s Precision Livestock App completely free to every British Beef farmer because we believe that keeping your records up to date shouldn’t be expensive or time consuming. You can manage your animals, record weights using Crush Mode, track movements and medicines in our android and iOS app for free.

In Breedr there are opportunities to sell live or deadweight and if you choose these trades we take a small commission of 1-2% depending on trade type.

You can watch Ian Wheal founder of Breedr talk about his vision and why we made the app free – click here

You are quite right there, Farmplan have been downright lazy as far as I can see and put no investment into their product whatsoever. They are living on their reputation and will come unstuck unless things change pretty Smartish.
I have been amazed at the speed of development of Breedr and the way they listen to users and incorporate new ideas and suggestions.
Their online help line has also been excellent. I’ve no axe to grind and I am not associated in any way but I find it a great package. The only thing keeping me with cattle manger at the moment as well as Breedr is all the historical data I have accumulated for comparative analysis.
The best part of Breedr is the algorithms they use which can predict weights and is a fascinating way to chart animal performance.

No, we will never sell your data. We fundamentally believe that you, the farmer, own your data and maintain the right to decide who you share that data with.

We will never share your Customer Data without your permission. Find out more about how Breedr protects your data in our terms and conditions – https://www.breedr.co/terms-and-conditions/
