Can the Farm Market Place web page designers, please remember that their target audience are mostly on rural slow broadband. So don't make the pages too image heavy.
Last night it took over ten seconds for the Farm Market place front page to load on my 2 mb broadband.

From what I can gather, the Farm Market Place opening page is around 12mb ( 90 %of which is images)
Other comparable sites like hgv direct or malpas online are around 4mb per opening page, when I searched them on an online page size checker.

The old site was very plain for that reason, but it didn’t provide a very user friendly interface and looked a bit Heath-Robinson as a result !

I will see if there is anything that can be done to speed up load times however - we have very fast broadband here so it’s easy to forget about load speeds for others

Thanks for the feedback, it helps things evolve and improve

talking directly to manufactures these eBay supplier are going to get themselves shut down as the regulation gets tighter, and certainly wont be able to supply anything beyond domestic use pack sizes soon they are not compliant and I know there is a big clamp down on this going on right now

prices are not down to us, they are set by vendors but I will feedback and see if they can get them lower, I did a bit of checking up and thought most of the rodenticides were pretty competitive when compared with other suppliers that are operating legally

delivery os free on many (but not all) of the FMP chemicals now, cant do credit though without inflating prices to cover risk and cost and we don't want to go down that road and would rather just offer the best and most open price

good feedback though, keep it coming please, do you have a link to the cheap eBay product so I can show it the FMP supplier ?

we will have a lot of the spring pesticides going on tomorrow and the remainder by the end of the week

also a new service - if you can't see the product you want phone or message us and we will get a price on it

You have to provide the data for ebay sellers too. The only argument could be over quality/potency of each bait. My point is that ebay is the standard for the race to the bottom as it were and you are competing with that. Just giving you an example - it won't be case with farm chems of course.

Anyone motivated to use FMP is probably going to be motivated by price more than anything. I totally get why there is no credit, I guess the motivation for lack of credit is cheaper price and delivery.

I agree price is key and the entire idea of FMPis to get the best prices. Remember thong they are not "my" or FMP prices they are the individual vendors price and ultimately they decide the level, too expensive and they simply wont sell, competitive and they will

when you consider ebay add 10% in fees and then another 3.2 in paypal fee - which is many, many times what FMP charges its vendors then the same supplier on FMP should be considerably cheaper than on eBay yet still maintain the same margin

There is no way anyone should be able to beat that particular FMP vendor however ;-) so we will a have a chat with them today and see what they can do

A few changes made this morning that should make a significant improvement to page load times especially on mobile, more to do still but that will take us a little longer

Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming please
