It looks like they've been put in to suit the layout there pretty central if you look at it as 3

We put ours in a certain way due to being south facing I didn’t want it on them when they were laying or eating preferring the heat/ light to go on them when they’re in the passage between cubicles and directing it into the center passage

@onthehoof The shed is wide and i wanted more light in the central zone. Shed runs north south so light is well balanced when sun is out.. Handling/ foot trim/ crush area is behind robots but in centre of the shed. So will feed bunkers for trioliet system.

Bulk tank in and bolted down. 12k litres should be enough for now... also cladding on east side nearly complete..for those with good eyesight you'll notice the cladding is pulling the outer timbers down. An argument for 12x3 timbers . Support steels going in next week.

Floors and walls of clean rooms completed..

feed barriers and last few cubicle end walls going in next week. Hoping that south end can be closed in too..

Looks more likely that they didn't prop the rails straight before nailing the boards on. Very unlikely the 5x1 boards would make a 9x3 sag if also nailed to 2 rails.

they sag but if you nail the tops 1st they don't do too bad as its normally a 9x3 eaves beam your going to.
gable ends on tall sheds if they have a joint in yb you have to nail top halfs 1st of they pull 3 sheeting rails like mad.

I would say they hadn't propped/bent the timber back straight before nailing.

second moment of area, the 12" would have a fare bit more strength than a 9 but I wouldn't think it needs it.

A angle iron knee brace is quite good at preventing the eaves beam sagging,on 20ft bays we put them 1150mm down from top of stanchion set at 45 deg so reducing the length of the eaves beam to less than 4m in theory
