Farm Sale

Looking to buy a muck spreader from a farm sale about 200 miles away.
The sales is on a Thursday and all lots have to be picked up on the following Monday.
I having a bit of a job finding a hauler that will be on standby on the off-chance that I do by the spreader.
I have asked if I can pick it up a bit later in the week, but the auctioneers have said if it not picked up on the Monday they are in thright to sell it again.
Anyone know of a simple solution to this problem?

Tell us roughly where in the country it is. If someone local to it can collect and hold it for you for a small consideration it will give you time to sort a haulier.

Cant be much of an auctioneer if they cant help you with this surely , in fact put like that I wouldnt bother going .

Is it gold plated why do you need to be buying a muck spreader from 200miles away. Sales don't seem to be selling stuff cheap then you'll have a few hundred quid on top for haulage, surely there's one nearer home

There’s either some very special unique circumstances that mean everything needs to be gone on one day or the auctioneer is being a complete twunt.
Probably easier to look for one elsewhere

Have you googled Corners Transport. They are about half an hour away from Northallerton but could be worth a try. If you google them it will give you a phone number.

In my experience a farm sale is unlikly to yield a sensibly priced machine, especially if you have 200 mile haulage on top.

The muckspreaders, the everything, are ex hire and have been offered locally before the sale.
They're maintained but will have worked. I've hired them a few times.

Most of the older spreaders will have been completely rebuilt at some point. Every time I ever went there over winter there was one completely stripped down, new floor, sides etc being fitted. When Jack himself was alive the local joke was if something went in to be Parlourized it came out weighing double and you needed a bigger tractor
