I don't think it's a kamikaze attitude at all. What i do is very similar to you which does stick the sh!ts up my neighbours but it's because for so many years farmers have been conditioned and scared by the trade to feel compelled to need to use every input available in a belt and braces programme. Not sure many people agree with the kamikaze attitude we use
5 kg/ha would be approximately 97 seeds/m2 assuming 100% germination and 100% establishmentDo you mind showing me your calculations so I can work out seeds/ metre when I have my germ test back ?
5 kg/ha would be approximately 97 seeds/m2 assuming 100% germination and 100% establishment
Seedrate in kg/ha is
((Seeds/m2 x TGW) / germination) x (100/%establishment))
eg. if you wanted 60 s/m2 and had 95% germination, and 90% establishment then
((60*5.2) / 95) x (100/90)
(312 / 95) x 1.111
3.284 x 1.111 = 3.65 kg/ha
