When Michael Gove visited a farm in Shropshire, his PA contacted the farmer he was visiting and informed them “the minister takes a size 9, can you please ensure he receives welllingtons for his visit.”
I would straight online and ordering a size 9 pair of these beauties 😂

The story I was told by a couple of the older farm workers when I was a boy is that they were singling (hoeing) sugar beet one day (20 or 30 years before) in the field outside my house and a pebble size stone hit the ground close to them, from no where and it fizzled and hissed for a few moments and then cooled down. There would be a gang of 6 or 8 who witnessed it, nobody picked it up and pocketed it, they just left it and carried on. The chance of this being witnessed must have been / still is, billions to one.

I was outside late one evening last year making some charcoal. My place isn't particularly remote but it is a sparsely populated area so very quiet and also quite dark too.
As I stood there I heard something come whistling through the air very close by. Whatever it was landed in the next field with a thud.
I didn't see anything like streaks of fire or hear anything like a gunshot. It came in at about 45 degrees and from the sound I would say it was tumbling and half housebrick size, travelling jolly quick.
No idea what it was or where it had come from. Only two things I can come up with are bullet tumbling on the end of its trajectory or meteorite.
