What do you all use for heating .. when necesary .. a farm workshop please? Obviously contains nice selection of highly flamable items! OH dosnt like space heater due to smell / fumes when doors shut. Was going to try a gas heater but that looks like a bad idea! Electric appears to be only option .. unless you know different?

I have a radiant heater, gives off a much better spread of heat than a space heater and also find it runs a lot cleaner. I run it on kero not diesel though. Usually end up turning it off after half an hour as it’s to hot to work near it.

I have a 12kW 3 phase heater, aside from raising the temperature a bit it's also good for giving the generator a bit of a workout. At some point I also intend putting a couple of quartz heaters up for the workbench & mill/lathe areas.

I use an electric convector - have to switch it on in advance of going in to work, though. Woodburner would be OK, but a lot of faff putting the flue through the roof. I'd never use Calor heater, like Super Ser, or anything else that's giving off fumes and CO.

Sort of area it heating ?
Using it for localised heat really, cause shed is so draughty. 60x40. They are called an infrared heat but there not red??? Have tried other sorts, they either give me a headache from the ‘infrared colour or smell or are noisy.
