I presume all the voters for the RVC calendar are familiar with the drama surrounding its publication and the weak, pathetic and ‘ so woke, it’s embarrassing’ response by the University to the outcry over animal abuse.

Talking of being retired ( or unemployed - what’s the difference really ? )
I was in town today to deal with some legal matters, so had a late breakfast ( my favourite to meal to “eat out” - it seems so relaxed :) ), of my favourite meal at my favourite cafe.
Byron Brekky Bowl
Poached egg
Grilled halloumi
Chorizo
Mushrooms
Avocado
Brown rice
Quinoa
Kale
The flavour & texture combinations were just brilliant

Washed down with 2 pots of strong, black English Breakfast tea (y)

now that’s living

doesn’t get much better than that

haha
lots of strong flavours & a variety of textures
it all works surprisingly well together

it was about 32 C by then & strong black tea is about the best drink for those conditions to

( it does help that they use soft water for their tea, I have no rain water & have to rely on bought in "hard" water from the local town water supply. There is NO comparison with a cup of tea made with rain water versus hard water . . . I have almost given up drinking tea ( ) because of it . . .

All my water is hard. Need to get some of that “spring water” in town or my appliances sh!t the bed.

Don’t do big breakfasts usually. Just want light stuff. Fruit and yogurt or fruit and cheese is usually plenty for me. If I push it to brunch then I can do a slab of meat.

And the texture of avocado is just :yuck::yuck::yuck:

Cant recall ever having a breakfast with anything green in it and that big green thing that I can’t even spell doesn’t go into any meal of mine and I don’t class it as edible never mind food.
I am glad you enjoyed it though, it’s like having a holiday just sitting and doing that. :)

One of the "Models" in it was lodging with us in autumn. The full story is hugely disappointing. He only really changed track when large numbers of old graduates launched into him.

The good news is that all the publicity caused sales to double on last year's one

Our water all comes from a chalk aquifer so is as hard as you get. It does affect the flavour of drinks and kills kettles. It also halves the effectiveness of some agrochemicals, especially Glyphosate.

Soft water is one of the things I hope to gain when we move. (y)

yeah, this was a pretty late breakfast - 11.00am
no lunch . . .

it was just a cup of instant coffee & "off" ? milk this morning before I left home

avocado, mango & banana are my 3 favourite fruits . . .
Nothing compares to off-milk-coffee to start the day
I got a bit eager for some cow's milk (vs shop slops milk) one dairy season and took home 4 litres of thinly veiled colostrum, it was great in a bowl but really not flash in a thermos flask with hot water ?
