Yes it does seem that way. Lamb especially has been very high priced for them to buy recently and it's lamb and sheep prices that they dropped by £0.80-70 per kilo liveweight overnight. They haven't done much to the beef price but that hasn't been anything special for a while.

Supermarkets are colluding to drop those prices
They never miss a chance at a good shafting
Maybe this is the shove some farmers need to get into direct marketing.
It is a massive bother but you get to set your own price. My prices are quite a bit higher than the supermarkets, but I set my prices based on my costs - Isn’t that how it should be?

I like seeing planes flying overhead, don’t see many though . . .

more likely to see light aircraft or the odd heli than any big jets
We sometimes get the odd big bird go overhead, I think we're on the flight path from Melbourne to Buenos Aires when the weather in the south Pacific (roaring forties) forces them to fly further south

don't quote me on that though

Doing book work inside on a glorious autumn day . . .
thank goodness we’ve now got a decent internet & mobile phone connection - via the SkyMuster satellites & a dish on the roof. Only 6 km from the centre of town, in a residential area ( albeit 2.2 ha block in our case ) & no NBN cable & very sh!t mobile reception

catching up on some Spotify while supposedly working

Last night whilst we were sitting in the hot tub I saw what I thought were a stream of aeroplanes heading SW to NE.

Quickly went into the house and there was nothing on flight radar.

Rang a mate who sometimes tracks military aircraft and it took us a minute or two to work out they were satellites.

I‘ve never seen or noticed it before but in the half an hour I watched 20-30 satellites went on approximately the same trajectory. It was fascinating.

It was just how you would imagine an alien invasion swarming.

I’m not sure why they were visible particularly last night but it was about 7.30 PM so the sun which had set must have been just catching them high up.

I found it amazing,

we see quite a few satellites, the International Space Station & heaps of "shooting stars", but then we generally have clear night skies & no light pollution. People in towns or large population centres don't see anywhere near the night sky we do
