I had a day like that this week on tuesday when it was still 5°c and sleeting at night and raining during the day. Hitch on the snacker came off 3 times. First time it came off in a ditch and 2 chilled lambs i had picked up after the sleet overnight in that blue tub in the top got trapped upside down under the back and drowned

Was 22° next day though as messed up as our weather is. There was several foot of snow on mount Snowdon not far from me that day apparently.

Well, you can't leave it at that . . .

You need to share :)
Aiming to buy a second hand big square baler of my own. Wasn't keen on dry hiring the neighbors tractor and baler this year as it' always in your mind that if it goes bang your responsible for fixing it....plus I am extremely anal about who does my hay as most of the sheds either dad or myself built from scratch and I don't want some flog burning any of them.

Plus I think I have hay in my blood. It's what I do best and get great satisfaction from it:). Still remember driving the tractor for my Pa whilst he made sheaf hay with the old sunshine binder;)

Didn't take long for a bit of a thaw to happen! Wow.

Likewise, it didn't take long for summer to disappear from here, fed out a bale of hay to the cattle this morning.. ride on the fire truck this afternoon..View attachment 662386View attachment 662388 Both occurences due to rainfall, the car we were called to got a little close to the edge of the road and it gave way... happily they managed to escape without us having to cut them out, it would have been a mission to get down there with cutting gear.
Dangerous, those kiwi road edges!

Lying in wait for the unwary

Yeah - I don't know how the f**k they managed it, myself.

:scratchhead:

Would have taken a good long rope to lower gear down to the car anyway, it had kept going over til it found a better sized tree to stop on... I think it must have been driver distraction rather than speed as it was basically a driveway to the beach, it would take a jock like me to be going up there at more than 20kmh.

Ah well, no serious harm done, must get a rental car and write it off, apparently it is the done thing down here (n)

They issued a flood watch for my area this evening.

I live up the hill from a dam on the Three Hills creek (That’s the one completely wiping out the road and going around ice flow bridge in my other photos). Right now they’re saying the reservoir is over capacity.

Going for a drive down there in a bit to see what it looks like.
