Drinking rum with an actual pirate...View attachment 758256
Tonight’s gonna get messy!
Nice spread, I assume the coke is for the kids.

A Cornishman that’s not met a pirate?

Why are pirates?
They just arrrgghh!!!

My ancestors were from PZ, might be why my 3 year old grandson asked me for a really big cutlass for Christmas. :D

Not met too many pirates in the Adelaide Hills!

The coke is for those of a more tempered disposition. Both rums are quite agreeable when simply consumed over icicles!

The benifits of a classical education should never be underestimated !!!
The present isn't much to shout loudly about, but history is something we can learn a little from!

Or not, the fact remains that most of society still don't/can't manage to see all the BS that goes on, for what it is... we're handed our heroes, and our villains....

So I avoid much of the stimulii, TV and media - it's mostly mind control

And the less you watch of the mind bending crap the more you scrutinise stuff when you do watch it.

Farming is no exception when it comes to being advised to buy shoddy tat to spend time wearing it out doing pointless tasks.

I am learning however it takes time to change habits of a lifetime.

My soft spot is shiny stuff though.:inpain:

That's what I've noticed in myself, over the past 15 years or so that I've seen the idiot box for what it is..

Cynic: level expert

It all comes back to the "teach them what to think, not how to think" theme, a good indicator is what is termed "reality TV", or the soaps, kids TV, there's just such an overload of false ideals, false heroes...

Can you tell I'm not a fan? :hilarious:

I feel like the hamster watching the other hamsters taking turns on the wheel, seeing who can give it the most spins before they run out of breath
I suppose it just feels difficult to be a part of something you have no belief in (n)
