Froze again this morning, rained this afternoon, and freezing again.. I have a funny feeling we'll be putting our fireman's gear on in the morning

Know what you mean, rain then freezing is not good.

Twenty years ago I rolled a Mitsubishi Shogun at night after rain had frozen.

It rolled right over on the highway, straight back onto its wheels.I was unscathed so jumped out, chucked the windscreen and loose speakers back in,turned the key and drove it the mile home.

It certainly was slippy.:nailbiting:

It's so dry here that it's been freezing most nights lately. So, lots of grit on the roads and it keeps everyone happy - a bit hard when black ice forms though as the whole stretch of road (rather than just the shady bits) will be a rink.
Southland is really wet, but it hasn't made it over the hills to us. About an inch here, over the last month..

I fed 20 bales of hay in one paddock and didn't even cut up the gateway carting them in

Roughly, we're in a rainfall deficit of 450mm, not looking real good .

That's good stuff! Rocket fuel, but good!

Are you down here at the moment?

It's my favourite, so far.

Yes, we are here until Friday. Staying in a quiet spot near Wadebridge.

I'm a bit of a crowd dodger tbh, but my seven year old daughter has just discovered surfing and bodyboarding, and Polzeath seemed like a good spot. Great waves yesterday, she is built like a feather, so when she catches one she flies. :)

The weathers been good and I'm told it gets busier...:ROFLMAO:

I’m surprised you’ve found a quite spot anywhere near that part of the county! Yeah, there’s always a bit of a lul this time of year before the schools break up proper, then all hell breaks lose! Next week I think you’ll be happy to be out of it!

We are lucky, Leicestershire are always early. The school head is pretty understanding when we play the "harvest" card too...:sneaky::) We have never been away in summer holidays proper, the mark up is eye watering if nothing else.

The village we are staying in is really quiet, it isn't really en-route to anywhere which helps. But some places...and people... You've really made it in life when you've got a BMW X5 or Range Rover Sport, with 22" wheels and padded surf board bags on the roof, that neither goes in reverse, nor under 40mph.

We stayed between Looe and Polperro last year which was great, but the favourite is the far west, have stayed a bit in Marazion, which is great once the pilgrims to the mount have gone for the day. Not St Ives!!!

Love the place really (and I can see why anyone born and bred is so proud and attached) it's just a shame so many others do too. :)

Woolworths have handed out 11 million to 450 struggling dairy farmers. (24,444 each) . Would be better if the proccessors would pay more for the milk in the first place.
It's just a publicity stunt to make them look good.
Expect the price to jump significantly in 12 months......the s**t is readying itself for the fan......processors think supply is tight now.......
