Meanwhile, the local cricket comps ( along with netball, touch football etc etc ) are about to start up with the easing of covid restrictions, so busy times for Parks & Gardens staff

Is it hard to find people to tint ag cabs in your area?
Near impossible around here, have started doing it ourselves.
Everyone and his brother doing cars (and I can understand why) lot easier

no trouble at all.

you wouldn’t run an A/C cab here without tinted glass

when you buy a new tractor, just tell the dealer you want the windows tinted, an it gets done . . .

buying second hand, most are already tinted anyway

it’s not only agriculture, nearly all windows in earthmoving, construction & transport equipment are tinted as well

makes a huge improvement in the efficiency of A/C systems.

Zero manufacturing here. Alternative is breeding draught horses....
You'vs got all the ingredients though. I once went on a tour of the Port Hedland ore terminal and the guide was telling everyone how the metal for their cars had come from there and I was thinking wouldn't it have been better if the car's had been made there rather than everything going to Japan and coming back.

All except for the cheap people to put it in motion - that's our life of luxury biting us in the arse, isn't it?

We don't "want to be like the Asians/Islanders/South Americans/Eastern Europeans" because it's beneath us, then get upset when factories close because it's cheaper to ship it there and ship it back to us

(not saying you're upset, just a generalisation)

it was similar here as the car factories closed up etc but our lifestyles write out cheques our bodies can't cash, if you want something you pay for it

It was always said that Aus/NZ had a first world lifestyle and a third world economy ( Agriculture and raw materials ) . I live in a country that has a third world lifestyle to go with its third world economy just because labour is cheap doesn't mean it works any better.

I know that story but thought I had read it in the Bible. Wasn't it a gift to someone in return for a good deed and he fell to the ground and died at the end of his walk.

There must be a fair few places where you can't walk around the perimeter in one day. Mine would take a good half hour, I have more than enough. :)
