The road out the other side & heading back to the bitumen
"A land of drought and flooding rain" been written about for centuries.Hard to believe that flooding after seeing it bone dry not that long ago
Australia takes that whole "jam tomorrow" thing to a whole new level.Hard to believe that flooding after seeing it bone dry not that long ago
NoIt looks as though if it stops raining, that corn would be ok?
Yeah, the reality is you're in the position of planning for your next drought while waiting for the rain to stop, crazy but true

Tend to say "I" a bit too often, but I do listenTHAT is it EXACTLY
glad someone “gets” it
Always farmed conservatively here in preparation for the next shìț year. But sometimes you get the perfect storm.....so to speak. Having said that. In a far better position to do it again now. Just hope the corner it's around is in the far distance....THAT is it EXACTLY

Australia takes that whole "jam tomorrow" thing to a whole new level.
An old boy in a bar a billion miles from anywhere out there once told me when referring to station owners in the harder bits "they're gamblers not farmers".
I'd feel quite insulted if told I wasn't a farmer but feck me I wouldn't want to do it in Australia. I love the place but it is just feckin mean.
So the big question is, with all this water, how many good harvests can you bank on? And are you better off on balance even with the damage to this year's crop?No
Even if it doesn’t rain again, that water will be flowing through there for at least a week more, probably 2 . . .
and the grain quality will be rubbish now.
“Feed” wheat just means it’s sh!t . . .
that’s assuming the straw doesn’t rot at water level ( that happens ) & fall over before it dries out & we can actually harvest any
