Hi All,
I apologise if this is already a topic of discussion on here, but I haven't been able to find it.
Following the editorial note in October's (or maybe November's) Farmers Weekly, I have signed up for the educational project "Farmer Time", that used to be called "FaceTime a Farmer".
For those who aren't aware, this is an initiative that seeks to pair classrooms of schoolchildren across the UK with Farmers who will speak to them remotely on a regular basis to help educate the next generation about agriculture.
While I have some limited experience in education, I have never done anything like this before, and so I am wondering if anyone has any experience that they would like to share. There are forums I believe on the farmer time website, but I thought that asking here would have the double whammy of spreading awareness of the initiative among cumputer literate farners such as yourselves.
My biggest obstacle - or maybe the children's biggest obstacle) initially I think will be my thick Ulster accent! I've been paired with a school in the south east of england, so that should be interesting!
