A bit more wind with a band of cloud and rain cross northern England, Wales and southwest England in the morning. The rain will reach the Midlands and southern England in the afternoon. Brighter weather follows from the north and west with sunny spells, at the same time it turns colder. The colder air pushes southwards through Scotland and Ireland as heavy showers move onto coasts and hills. some of the showers turning to snow which may give a covering of snow in Scotland. Highs of 11C/52F in the morning falling rapidly later to 4C/39

A cold, bright and windy morning. A ridge of high pressure builds to the west, A cold northwest wind will bring some sleet and snow showers over northern and western Scotland as well as north Wales. Dry and bright elsewhere with lots of sunshine, although wintry showers may affect parts of the western Midlands. Cloud increases in the west during the day as the winds ease. A weak front will give patchy rain in western areas later. Highs of just 5C/41F
