Something that really annoys me is when a neighbor burns up all his wrap and silage sheet this time of year always does it on bank holiday weekend. Burns for days .
It cost me £350 a year to get rid of mine responsibly!
They are big farmers .Now with a on farm milk processing business!

I suspect that’s true for me too. But that’s because I don’t know any organic farms.

I would imagine that there are two types of organic farmers - those who do it because of their beliefs and those who do it because they can make more profit. The former are unlikely to burn plastic, imho.

Mine's recycled into energy by a responsible waste collector.

Oh come on. If you are paying for a company to take away your waste and they give you an official receipt what else can you do?

Angers me that we pay for it to be taken away only for it to be shipped to china and back or burnt in china. I might as well save money and the planet by burning it at home

I don’t think it’s been getting shipped to China for quite some time, since long before Covid.
Pretty sure it’s just been collected and stored since, in the hope that someone will take it sometime.

It seems crazy to me that it isn’t being burnt in power stations, replacing fossil fuels. It’s only oil anyway.

Agreed - but it should never be burned at home. Power stations (in this country anyway) have very expensive and effective flue gas filtration and treatment systems, farm bonfires just poison the neighbourhood.

@jondear have you tried actually talkin to them instead of communicating kinda indirecty on here?
Reporting then without actually talking to them is just as a shitty thing to do as the burning.
Ps. I am assuming he is a reasonable guy, and you aswell ofcourse.
