Farmers earn more from YouTube than their crops

I'd go for a Yosemite Sam with the pigeons seems more appropriate

So more like this

Where's the jealousy? Until you know other peoples circumstances, don't make assumptions. Some people spend time surrounded by cows because they enjoy it, not everyone wants to sit in the house 24/7.
I've explained it before on here that my opinion of Olly is based on what we see of his attitude, and it's not good, he's an arrogant little twit! He actually said on video that he was going to an upcoming farm show but didn't want people stopping him for a chat, or to take a picture, because he's not there for that, if people want to do that he'll organise a meet and greet for them. I mean is it too much to say hello or have a wee chat and a picture with the 12 year olds that subscribes to your channel and buys your merch? Or should I mention the disgusting attitude he had towards the dealers about his JD loader? Even though his broke and they replaced it with one to keep him going, he went on a rant about how unprofessional their behaviour was because they had not taken his old one away yet, and poor little Olly was left with it. Despite all this going on in the middle of the worst of the pandemic when most companies were running a skeleton staff and trying their best to keep things moving.
Personally a better advert for farming is obviously Tom Pemberton, Olly Blogs, George Saunders, Mc Milking It, Crawfords Farm, KV6080 etc Or my personal favourite - Drews Farming Life.
dont forget dove farms!

You must walk with your eyes shut if you believe that there is no jealously in farming, If a farmer buys a new tractor or some land other farmers always find something to put him/her down. The mart cafes and pubs are full of gossip.

Look through some of the threads about Mr Dyson on here, the jealously shown towards him is unbelievable, all because he has worked hard and developed a successful business.

We all run our business's differently and have differing personalities, no one is perfect. I find it baffling why grown men will have a go at a young man and insult him personally on a public forum, especially when social media insults and mental illnesses are capable of so much harm and devastation.
I don't know why there's so much hate towards the lad. He's not my cup of tea so I stopped watching. He's not unique though, I've met plenty of farmers son's like him, living on the back of his parents work and claiming they know everything.
Perhaps people are keen to distance themselves because they've had a similar up bringing and don't want to be tarred by the same brush?

Or perhaps he just annoys the:poop: out of the rest of us.....

I never said there is no jealousy in farming, obviously there is, but you can't just assume that everyone is having a go at this lad through jealousy.
As far as working hard and getting the rewards I can fully respect anyone that does that, Tom Pemberton is the prefect example. If he bought a new handler, tractor and pickup I wouldn't have a bit of envy towards him, I'd congratulate and wish him the best with it.
It's the opposite with Olly because it's his attitude that's rubbing people up the wrong way, like annoucing he's starting a contracting buisness and saying, and I quote, " I'll get work because of who I am " Because that's the kind of arrogant attitude to take? Like it's that simple to get a contracting buisness off the ground and make a success out of it. The irony is hes had next to nothing in the way of work.
Personally I'd have more respect for him if he actually put the farm first, instead of trying to be a flash twit with the newest tractor, Land Rover etc. Recent videos talking about changing the Deere for a new one, buying the new Defender so he can keep the miles off his current model, buying another 2nd tractor, buying this, that and the next thing when his farm is clearly needing investment - he stores all his straw outside, spends all winter hauling it out of fields. His " grain shed " is barely big enough to tip a trailer in, he moans about not being able to keep his machinery inside and the one time he shown us working with livestock it was a shed that clearly needed some work done on it.
As for the " grown men having a go at a young man and will insult him personally " well Olly's not much younger than me, but the problem is when you put your life on display to everyone online you need to have a thick skin, you can't just expect everyone to congratulate you or not disagree or question how you're doing something.

You forgot to say that he can't even be bothered to power wash anything.

Point accepted......, I'm not the greatest fan of the X Factor however I don't come on here throwing insults at Simon Cowell, because he has bought a new Rolls Royce or not washed his Ferrari, guess some of us have busier lives?, I shall leave you in peace to carry on throwing abuse at the lad or maybe start a YouTube channel yourself to show us all how a proper farmer farms?

Seriously that’s one of the worst comparisons possible 🤦‍♂️ 😂
Does Simon Cowell give people a false perspective on the job you’re doing? Why would you complain about him on here, a farming forum? Pretty sure if you went on a singing forum you’d probably find loads of people giving him abuse. Obviously people did get tired of him since his show got cancelled.
Now now, don’t try and act like a smart pansy, you’ve already proved, with that comparison, you’re not, but I’ve already listed plenty of “ proper farmers “ that are doing a great job of promoting farming on YouTube.

Depends some would argue they do in that they make people think they'll succeed and become uber rich I believe that even the likes of Taylor Swift have said the biggest piece of advice she would give before anyone gets into the music industry get a good lawyer. It is why she has been rerecording her songs and album in her own studio which has kicked several who brought her master recordings in the crotch as they plummeted in worth from the millions they paid for them as film and and companies would rather license her new copies and keep her on side. You then have some who have won the various shows been led to believe the money would continue to roll in were given no financial advice, it dried up and they went bankrupt. The fact is there are a lot musicians who are rather bitter about music moguls like Cowbell including the likes of Cliff Richards and McCarthy even a local band are rather bitter after being misled about one of their songs which ended up being used by another group who got a number one around the world with it and they didn't see a penny.

Going by the effort you put into your posts about a YouTuber, could I politely recommend you get laid more, it may help? There's more to life then being concerned about others.

As a arable and livestock farmer I find YouTube extremely useful, therefore I am grateful to the YouTube farmers who take time out and share their knowledge. At times from a mental health point of view its nice to sit down and learn that it's not just me who suffers from bad days, when machinery and the weather let me down. I am sure these channels also help many other farmers who often work alone and at times feel that the world has turned against them.

Therefore, sorry but I will stick up for the youtuber farmers when they are receiving personal abuse, or their parents are receiving abuse and are being accused of bringing up their children as spoilt brats, there is absolutely no need for it

Do let us all know when you have a YouTube channel going please, would be great to see your perfect set up xx

You have such strong views for online mental health, yet you’ve insulted me personally, again? Not exactly doing yourself proud, or rising above it. 🤦‍♂️
Your whole point started with “ older grown men insulting a younger lad is disgusting “ and I’m not much older than Olly, so I’m guessing your older than me… you’ve kinda destroyed your whole argument.
Well done.

I have not insulted you personally or insulted your parents claiming that they had raised a spoilt brat, that's what some on here were stating.

Why can't we all just sit back and watch these videos and learn without personal insults. Some of the information which is shared for free on Youtube farming videos would cost thousands of pounds and numerous man hours to obtain if professionals were consulted. Everything from mechanical to planning issues are covered we need to support these youtube farmers for having the b4115 to put their day to day affairs on screen and encourage more, not insult their parents.

We had a number of forum members on here in the past, especially in the machinery section who would spend hours helping forum members with their mechanical issues and at times the op's wouldn't give them a single like let alone a simple thank you. Unsurprisingly those members have now left. Why do we as farmers have to be so selfish at times?

I read your last paragraph with interest and agree we have lost some really knowledgeable members, whether it be an agricultural engineer , Animal nutritionist or vet. We had a really great helpful vet on the livestock section who would give loads of advice for free, but he’s given up because people wanted to argue with him and pull him to bits.
… sorry but on the subject of YouTube that Ollys farm lad is an annoying little tw at who obviously doesn’t live on this planet ✊

Know it's not Saskatchewan but have you asked if it's cold enough yet for him?
