Hi, I've just had an e mail from Farmers Guardian:
"Thank you for subscribing Roy.

We hope you enjoy your subscription with us and get the most out of it.

Farmers Guardian has become much more than just a weekly title. In fact, thousands of farmers see their subscription as a vital business tool, helping to make important decisions on-farm.

Your VIP+ Membership includes the magazine delivered weekly, the app edition and 24/7 access all areas on FarmersGuardian.com where you can find a host of digital tools and services to help you grow your farming business. For more detail about these benefits download our guide by clicking the link below."

Well how interesting. The thing is l haven't had a subscription with FG for several years and l certainly didn't renew it this time!( I haven't been a farmer for almost 25 years) Has anyone else had an autorenewal without permission?I will give them a ring after 9am to see what's happened.

Have FG had their hand in your back pocket, without you knowing? Sub is quarterly.

That's the way of the world these days. Got to watch them all like a hawk. I am nervous of buying from Amazon in case I inadvertently click the wrong button! I donated a small sum to a charity on there because it sounded like a good cause -- later I discovered I'd signed up for regular payments -- for life!

Was there an edition last Friday as I didn't have one delivered?
Yes there was.
@Roy_H i unsubscribed from both FW and FG back in March and both stopped the following week coincidentally. FG appeared here last Friday out of the blue with our old trading name on the front 🤷‍♂️ unless it’s a marketing ploy and they are sending them out hoping that people will resubscribe?

Just called them. He assured me that there are no active subscriptions for FG on my account. He advised me to check my credit card statement or if l do get any unwanted magazines to call them back. He also gave me a ref. no. for my call this morning. Oh well, wait and see!

Obviously having "Problems with the system" as they are bound to say. I did hear of one guy who has been getting copies of "Profi" for years and he has never ever subscribed / paid for them! 😲

I've fallen for them bast*rds before now. Bought something off them and must of clicked something that landed me subscribed to Amazon prime at £8 a month. Was about 7 months before I realised. Don't use them now

I never do any subscriptions with a credit card. A direct debit is easy to stop.
A.V.G. autorenewed my internet security suite even though l had cancelled my subscription with them. A quick call to MasterCard and they stopped it and l was refunded. 😉

Update: Well no unwanted copies of FG have landed on my doorstep, so maybe they just accidentally e mailed the wrong person!
Slightly OT, a few years ago l started receiving quite a few emails asking me about holiday homes in Spain! It turned out a chap with exactly the same Christian and surname as me and a very similar email address to mine does indeed deal with holiday homes in Spain. Anyway , an email to that other Roy and between us we got it sorted 😉

Really....? I don't believe that is actually possible or legal. Instruct your bank or use the online system to cancel if you have issues with said charity.

I had a problem 5-6 years ago cancelling a subscription or something, possibly AV for the computer. Problem went away when I changed the card, and the number was no longer valid. :) Several agitated "reminders" were ignored.
