Strong winds North of England with wintry showers around coasts in the east and west, mostly rain at low levels near coasts but falling as snow above 600ft. Dry and bright for central and southern areas. Some more organised rain/sleet moves into northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland through the afternoon and western parts of England and Wales later, this will fall as snow over higher ground but down lower levels later. A cold day with Highs at just 3 to 6C

Weather Alert for Tuesday/ Wednesday SW and Southern England
Area of rain, sleet or snow is likely Tuesday evening and overnight the snow is most likely over high ground above 650 ft. but could fall to low ground at times we are expecting up 10cm or 4inces in the south and east. keep with metjeffuk.com for updates
