Hi farmers,

Please see the attached picture; we are now advertising in Farmers Weekly to try and get more farmers to participate in my online survey on farming advice.

It only takes 5-10 minutes and you'll have the chance to win a £100 voucher of your choice as well as being able to voice your concerns!

The results are very likely to inform policy so it's vital that we hear from as many farmers in England as possible!!

Please consider taking part, I'd be extremely grateful if you would share this with other farmers too.

Why only England???

Hi, there are a few reasons:

1) Wales/Scotland are both devolved territories so much of the legislation is different; we would have to try to influence a separate policy
2) The scope of a PhD project - I'm trying to cover the whole of England whereas many would have to focus on a few counties, so I'm already pushing myself as hard as I can!
3) Funding - my main funder is the Environment Agency which is a government body for England. I would need separate funding under a different project to carry out the research elsewhere.

I would in future hope to carry out this research in the devolved territories as I completely agree that it would be very useful, but I would need to obtain separate funding etc.

Thanks for the question and apologies if you weren't able to participate due to being outside of England!

Done. I was a little uncomfortable about being asked what I'd be prepared to pay for advice on pollution but answered the questions as best I could. It was good to have the opportunity to comment at the end of each section as some of the choices were a little narrow. Being asked to choose 3 options was restrictive - I have many many sources of information.

Hi all, I'm still desperately looking for farmers to take part; please consider spending 5 minutes doing this as it may influence policy! Thank you, Charlotte

I also share Brisel’s feelings, and have also answered as best I can. CSF has done a tremendous job in my area. I would be very reluctant to see it go, but do feel that they are underfunded in terms of the hours that they put in.

I wouldn’t feed the environment agency information if you paid me.
