Think you may find it was a Burghley Estate rented farm.

Yes it was a rented farm from burghley and had an arable and pig unit. They didn't farm sacrewell lodge that was the Scott abutt trust but was across the a1 and farms along similar lines.

I was lucky to sell John lambkin a machine and he was an absolute gentleman to deal with and when they sold up in 2006 I went and bought it back for my own farm and still use it here today.

IIRC, Easton Lodge (Stamford/Peterborough area) farm manager was John Lambkin. I think it was the last one that that they had - kept it on long after they'd given all the others up.
Was there a pig unit called Sacrewell(?) run in conjunction with it?
They were part of A1 farmers. Sacrewell is now a farm visitor centre. They also had Tim Vine? Farming over in a France too. Think he and his family took it on

Just been for a rummage in my 'extensive filing system' in the office. This is a booklet from an Easton Lodge open day in 1970....

It makes for some interesting reading.... rent £12/acre, wheat yield 36.3cwt/ac (1.82 t/ac).............
