What do we understand by the claim that RT produce is traceable? What would the consumer expect by that claim?

RT often claim it's traceable. See video at 35secs - saying traceable back to the farm.

How does this traceability claim sit against the ASA investigation...

In the FW article, RT say the made a typo in the Facebook/Twitter posts. They didn't mean to use the word 'farm', but they missed a 's' off the end by mistake, and should have written 'farms'.

Yet they seem to keep saying RT produce is traceable, and they do audits to check this :scratchhead:

Was her nose getting longer while she was speaking?
I'm not certain they know what they're doing.

We know grain gets blended from many different farms at a central store. They know it. So why claim to consumers that it's traceable. Then why claim they didn't mean to claim it is traceable, yet have traceability audits.

Does Boris work at RT?

Can a tray of beef mince with a RT logo on it be traced back to the individual farm every time. I VERY MUCH DOUBT it …… but happy to be proved wrong.

Whole thing is a sham.
apart from a butchers animal 1 and 2;s /small batch
most of the rest of the time you wont be proved wrong because once the eartag is gone that's it as a commodity .
Pigs are a bit different with tattooed /slap mark

I don't know how you can make it traceable, but the point is you shouldn't repeatedly tell consumers it's traceable when it isn't. It's the reputation of our produce at stake.

Maybe 'traceable' in the below screenshot is a typo

Our local butcher can tell his customers which farm his quality beef or pork has come from. That’s what’s traceable.
This tickbox stuff means nothing except cash for these otherwise unemployable fraudsters at RT and Nfu .

It our reputation as primary producers that red tractor is destroying thru mismanagement

the sooner it ends the better. We don’t need these parasites dragging our industry down.

Yes the traceability bit is a typo.

The safe and farmed with care bit however is actually correct. But only because us farmers are in charge of those parts of the process.

Sadly it’s the part where we have to pay to an outside firm so our goods can be sold on the world market that lacks any form of credibility!

I’ve just watched that video and that woman is talking total rubbish as it’s not traceable back to a farm

And a copy of this needs sending to the ASA let them see what a mess red tractor are in.

will send it to ASA - they repeat this lie over and over misleading customers never ends well

their excuse of a typo in their twitter posts ………… beyond lame

Maybe local butchers need to push that...
The public don't care though. And the public don't need to be told by RT that this low quality RT tickbox stuff is traceable when it's not.
When questioned, RT admit it's a lot of lies too but both RT and the Non farming union refuse to stop this fraud because they are the ones running this scam to line their directors and employees pockets. No wonder the non farming union is losing members like there's no tomorow.

A disgrace and you'd have thought those at the non farming union would know better.
