The in machine to have around here is the horch joker with the st bar. I think very similar to a simba express. I looked at 1 at Carrs depot at Thirsk mart the other day and I am sure it was over 3 ton on the plate so a heavy lump plus 160 hp plus to pull it

Dont be fooled by the subdisc there easy enough to lift and 165hp will pull one ok but 240hp pulls it better😂

We're on fairly heavy land and was running a five leg 2.5 m ultra tilt with 160 on the front of it. If anything it was more lacking grip than power. Ours was still running on the original legs and shear pin.
The shear pins I had to get made up as they were a unique size. The legs or more specifically the points/ feet were it's let down causing too much heave in my opinion and meant it took a lot of pulling. The main cause of this was the pattern points being a poor fit and in work the wings were too much of an angle.
We did demo a trio at the time but went with the ultra tilth as one disc per arm gave better mixing and soil movement than the twin disc per arm trio.
We have since upgraded to a kvernland dtx 3m 5 leg which doesn't take much more pulling but is a far heavier machine.

Guy who has it for sale said grip was the problem with the tractor he had tried it on ( he`s a local small dealer)

When we had a demo of the ultra tilth, they sent us a 3m 6 leg one. We lifted the outside two legs up a couple of holes and drove a bit narrower. We did have it on a fully weighted valtra t130, and she pulled it fine. Was a bit of a hand full travelling and on headlands but it coped ok. It pulled the one we bought for a couple of years until we got something bigger.
I think with different legs on it. Especially something more modern design it wouldn't take as much pulling.

I’ve got both a Mk1 and Mk2, a neighbour was selling his Mk2 and managed to get it for a steal. Mk1 is sat in the yard unloved!
As said the bearings are much much better on the Mk2, not had one fail since I’ve had it.
But they both do the same job and I rate them highly, very cheap to run and the Guttler does a great job.
