Yes but that's not a GE. I bet my constituency and Bury next door (Hancock) go blue next time

You may be correct but I do think the evidence suggests we are living in more 'politically fluid' times. The days of safe seats are hopefully numbered.
But we might miss them if it means that we end up with MP's elected for the most spurious of reasons. It would be awful if it came down to who basically got the most 'likes' on election day.

Back in 1970's, the Tories brought out a policy document - I think it was called 'Food from our own resources'. Must see if I can dust off a copy!
Obv during height of Cold War and Eastern 'threats'.
Perhaps if they reviewed it in light of current conflict etc, some common sense might prevail! 🛩🐖🐷🐖🐷!!
It was labour 1979
Tories buried it

problem is, here in Wales, I think the Labour party does not care for agriculture (I am thinking about the TB issue, as well as tree planting on Welsh farm land)
and the Liberal party, would never form a government, so basically stuffed!
We have an excellent Plaid Cymru MP here in Ceredigion but Plaid have no actual power to change policies and as a group [excepting our MP Ben Lake] I fear that they are just another urbanite bunny-hugging pie-in-the-sky woke lot, just like the big three Parties have become. They are all fixated on populist agendas administered by a bloated civil service and public sector whose primary aims are to create ‘jobs for the boys’ through hindering the industrious wealth-and-real-job creators through ever more rules, regulations, inspections, costs and taxes.

In the run up to the independence referendum in '97 I warned anyone who would listen that they were voting for a permanent labour government run by the South Wales Valleys labour mafia. 'Oh no, we're going to have a nationalist government.' was the juvenile refrain.
Twenty five years of one party government and we now find the nats getting into bed with labour.
Now the WG are getting some taxation powers, we are absolutely stuffed.
