there's always been a law enabling them to commandeer a vehicle to either chase a suspect if required or to help save life / emergency. cant quite remember which one it is did try quickly googling it.

it did turn up this video which proves even in ukraine the police are stupid trying to hold up a blockade by hand with a hitatchi loading shovel shoving it over.

Got my mates reply: after 30 years policing London he's not aware of any power to commandeer a vehicle. He has done so by agreement of the driver once and suspects there might be a power hidden in the civil emergency powers somewhere but he's never been taught any such power.

All vehicles fitted with Air Horns for the benefit of cyclists and ear bud wearers, sometime one and the same. For the benefit of the finger raising cyclists it is beneficial to fill the rear window washer with neat solution even white vinegar.
They always seem to enjoy you washing all the windows at the time you pass them.

The fire service aren't allowed to go any deeper than the lowest wheel nut in flood water round here, probably as they drowned 2 nearly new appliances last year when they parked them in a lane in a village up the road from here then stood and watched the flood water rise to close on 4 feet

We have a concrete road tha runs through the cow paddocks and at the end their is a gate onto a minor public road The dog walkers are fond of walking their dogs down it and out onto the minor road in a kind of circuit . Keeping juice in the wires along the cow road prevents any straying by owners out into the paddocks .
I am relucant to put a stop to them atm as the cows are housed and with the lockdown folk need a bit of fresh air and as long as the are not causing damage im turning a blind eye . Needless to say when the cows return to pasture the chains go back on the gates . Well anyway last week we saw a large suv turn down the road with a dog on a lead running alongside with the driver holding the lead out the open window . Norman was despatched to inform the driver that she was on private property and while walking was tolerated we draw the line at cars . Norman with his usual caustic wit informed the lady who was shall we say on the plus side
" that with the size of you its the dog that should be driving and you running alongside " . 🤣
I'd be using this opportunity to confront and film the conversation with the walkers that there is no right of way, in a nice way of course, so you can use it later on in your defence when they are trying to claim a permissive path
