WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 1300 hrs, Thursday 24th May 2018
SATURDAY
---------------
High pressure stays to the north with low pressure to the south of the country. The remnants of a front through mid Ireland and into northern England allows for plenty of broken cloud. Some morning rain over hills, but this tending to fade into the afternoon.
Low pressure in the Bay of Biscay pushes a trough northwest through southwest England and central southern England in the afternoon, reaching southern Wales and then southern Ireland into the evening. A risk of some scattered thundery showers in southeast England during the evening.
Low cloud may always drift onto eastern coasts of Scotland and England during the day.
Winds E 20-25kt (F5-F6) in the east, 20kt (F5) in the west.
SUNDAY
------------
A trough over southern Ireland and southern England on Sunday. High pressure stays to the north with low pressure to the south.
Thundery bursts of rain affecting much of the far south of Ireland, southern and mid Wales as well as southern England. The rain should fade for a time from central and eastern England before a further risk of some thundery rain arriving in the southeast later.
Drier to the north with sunny spells, the best in the west. Lower cloud on eastern coasts of Scotland and England.
Winds E 20-25kt F5-F6 but E-NE 15-20kt (F4-F5) in the south.
MONDAY
------------
Monday sees little change with low pressure to the south and higher pressure to the north.
Further thundery showers and rain arriving in the southeast, pushing northwest through central and southwestern England. The thundery showers affecting Wales too.
Drier and brighter for Scotland and Ireland, although some heavy showers in eastern Ireland. Again the risk of low cloud on eastern coasts and hills.
Winds E 20-25kt (F5-F6) in the east, NE 10-15kt (F3-F4) in the west.
