next year, have you ever been up the lighthouse?,my favourite spot is back up the hill there is a nt car park next just past a single story flat roofed building ,i think its a look out building, you walk up the hill and on top of the hill there is a small concrete formed little building/shepards look out,i will dig out a picture
Never been up to the light house,it's only open a few days a year and we always miss it..this year it's June the 18th,I'm making sure we are going this year..
The flat roof building was a listening station,it was sold to a property developer about 6/7 years ago,he saved it from ruins and has completely gutted the inside and is now livable, the only problem is now that he can't get residential pp on it..
The stone shelter on top of the hill is a look out from the 1790's,troops were posted there during the French invasion..

In my head I always thought they were like rails to slide the radar dishes about on,but looking now,I've not got a bloody clue..
This is in the biggest building facing south west with big windows..

That is smart, is that part of the flue the dog is looking into, what is the history of the works? I that all that is left.
the dog is looking into the flue, the flue is at least 170 yds long down into the valley, there is another further down the valley i shall get some pics tommorow.the whitebrook valley have various works down its length to where it meets the river wye,in the next valley across there was a big dam,(pics to follow )which fed the mills in the valley below,i will read up again on the history dont want to get it wrong!
