It's only illegal if you get caught.....and people want to prove you have done something wrong.

It's sad to hear the same tales happening in councils across the country - heard similar things from local CC tenants.
I know of atleast 2 council farms where the tenant isn’t actually the tenant he’s the farm manager for a much larger farming company but they had too put him down as the tenant ect too make the paperwork look right👀👀👀

Question for you guys. Has any council ever ghosted you after you viewed a farm twice, they pushed you into shortlisting for it and gave you extra time, over all others, to put in your application? I'm puzzled. They were giving out interviews either last week or this week. It's been 10 days since I applied and I emailed them the other day and asked them if they could let me know what is happening etc and no reply at all. Going to leave it till the end of this week.

If it were me, phone ASAP, don't leave it, keep on them, might be testing to see how keen you are? Or even ask if there's something they're missing from the application or something they want you to do etc

I hope this is ok to post in this section. Many of you are aware, and I want to thank those that have helped in sending me properties to apply for, etc, that our tenancy is up at the end of March. The farm is being sold soon after, we think. At the moment we have some options we are looking into, however, it feels hopeless, as there are too many people applying for them. I know everybody says to do everything to stand out and we are. Our business plans are up to date etc and plan for what we would like to do, and are ready to go into action when the right place emerges. Unfortunately, as we are nearing the closing date of our tenancy, and nothing is of certainty, we are starting to prepare for the inevitable of selling the animals and the business. It is a very difficult time for all of us, everything we have seemingly worked for, for the past 20 years just being taken from us. Does anybody on here know of anything going, wherever in the UK? It sounds desperate and I do not like to do things out of desperation, but sometimes we have to swallow our pride and go for it. If anyone knows of anything, if its just a whisper of something going to happen soon, or anything, can you dm me with what you know?
thanks
Could you post in the arable section here and ask if there are any large arable units that would be prepared to go into business with you. They could put in rotational grass leys/herbal leys to improve soil/weed management (BG) which you graze, and produce FYM they could utilise....... there's got to be someone with a bit of an imagination to integrate some stock surely.

If you can get the agreement correctly balanced it has to be better than nothing?

With the labour situation like it is would think there would be farmers looking for share farming arrangements and could make room for your buffalo enterprise in exchange for labour with the farms stock? Same parlour, seperate bulk tank etc.

That would be good, however it would be better not to do that really as cows pose a bigger risk of TB to the buffalo and the herds genetics are very good. Could be worth a go if nothing else tho. Do you know if anybody wanting that?

I was told that Wrexham council have an 80 acre farm thats not being farmed . Another tenant that buys straw from me was saying he’s asked about it/ offered to farm it, yet it’s getting covered in brambles and doing nothing .
