Fastrac engine conversion

Often thought of taking a 6bt out my 3170 Fastrac and fitting something like a 8V-71 Detroit, but then realised they don't rev as high as the Cummins so would be a slower top speed... :(

Bell housing / clutch would be the same ( have swapped 185/65 gearbox for 155/65 one ). Engine mounts are slightly different but the air compressor and aux. hydraulic pump would need to be totally re-worked as would various other pipes and wiring looms etc.
Would be feasible I would think but I'd want to be sure the donor tractor was sound before going to too much trouble or expense.
Cummings engined fastracs had heavier duty rear axles due to the extra power/torque over the Perkins ones , something to also bear in mind.
