Can I just add that I would love to justify a 4220 and would hope that they were reliable . I have done maybe 20 hours in one and loved it.
My comments were not to knock the product but just to say what happened on the customers machines. The dealer (John Deere mainly) seem to be getting them fixed quickly and the fourth machines has had mods done so as not to fail in future. Will check but I know 2 of the diffs were rear ones and went when on road empty pulling away in traffic rather than loaded and climbing a hill.
I heard at Lamma that a AD plant in east somewhere has swapped several 4220 s for Unimogs due to problems and they are making big savings on fuel however I guess the purchase price for Unimog would be higher to start with.

No they have finished , but the lad on that fastie is working for the new team on the job  they gave that fastie some grief , but rvt always got them another tractor within a hr tbf, when they broke it . 4000 hrs in 18 mth dragging that is good going

I’m sure I read somewhere they can be dualled but don’t quote me on it.

Front diffs and a few other bits have all been done on recalls too, service and reliability (hour for hour) is well above the green machines we run. Not perfect but nothing is.

As we’re doing more landwork with one of ours bow we’ve just got a setnof 710s to swap when we need too.
Our dealer told us that the rear tyres can be max dual 710's and front max is dual 650's. It should float with them. :D

I am glad someone finally got to the point: they are unreliable as sin and basically always have been. Not convinced the handlers are much better. JCB trade on their name.
That's a bit unfair. True I wouldn't buy a modern jcb digger, older ones were not too bad. Forklift's seem to do a job but hubs and diffs failing are hopeless.. We ran a 2140 to 8000 hours, original engine, clutch, gearbox, hydraulics, axles and even propshafts.. Hardly had anything spent on it but at the time people said don't buy that, won't be reliable.. At least the fastrac won't cost a fortune in brake repairs and it is far more modular in it's build so much easier to replace things like rear diffs.. I've done a fendt rear diff and it is a massive job costing mega money.. plus it spreads metal right through the gearbox. So far the old Fendt's have been expensive to run and very hard to work on.. and these are supposed to be the best of them.
