Fat hen in spring beans

The pre-em on the spring beans hasn’t worked well in this dry weather - we’ve got a lot of fat hen. Is there anything available other than Basagran? (which says moderately resistant for fat hen on the label)

I think (read the label) that mn and oil will help. They are on the large size sadly.

Also, that the wind is blowing in a certain direction (see label), temp is correct, and do it on the second Tuesday in the month

PGRO website suggests a tined weeder. Looks a bit risky to me.

I redrilled some thin winter beans with springs.
Put a disc cultivator through it, then tine drilled it and a pre-emergence.

I'll be dammed if not every single one of those winters aren't in flower now!

You’ve got to stick to the rules to get Bentazone to work, do it on a warm sunny day, not hot, and use 400l/ha water and oil. Personally I’d do 1.5 litres twice to get a better effect than doing 3 litres only once.

A Harrow will do more for fat hen than basagran ever will, basagran will not hit fat hen regardless of how you apply it in my experience,. But if you're harrowing them do it soon or the fat hen will be too well rooted.
