Fattening cull ewes - best ration?

My current ration is basically good grass, adlib haylege and adlib brewers grains - what do others use, as Im looking to get abit more efficient - this set up only really existed to deal with a brewery taking liberties with me as a tip site for grain!

Beet pulp - although expensive- is an ideal supplement in addition to brewers' grain - at about 50:50 on a dry matter basis. And it will more than pay for itself if it gets them away quicker.

Trident Feeds used to sell a moist feed called ‘Grainbeet’, which was a mix of brewers grains and DSBP. I always thought it would be an ideal finishing ration for toothless wonders in a shed.

Quite. I was wondering if they needed a new tip site….
There’s 3 mini breweries and 1 fairly sizeable one (brewery supplies 3 owned pubs and has a good direct trade) within 6 miles of here. I had the job of removing grains from 2 smalls and the bigger one for 18 months. The trouble is by the time you factor in time, running costs and the fact that they always want you too collect in the middle of the day it bloody expensive feed and not worth the hassle. It’s a crying shame because it’s proper old fashioned grains, not like mega brewery grains that have had most of the nutritional value squeezed from them!
